Creating Outbound Relationship for Acknowledgement

You can use an outbound relationship to process any outbound EDI message. To send an Acknowledgement (997/999), you need to create an outbound relationship. For details, refer to the Creating an Outbound Relationship section.
While creating two Inbound relationships, if you select Yes from the Generate Acknowledgement drop-down list to generate an acknowledgement and you have set the abpm.solution.edi.generateAckPerTradingPartner property to True then, both the Inbound relationships would generate a single acknowledgement file for all the inbound relationships of one trading partner. Also, the below fields of the outbound relationship must have the same values corresponding to its inbound relationship.

  • EDI Standard Version

  • Association Assigned Code

  • Transaction Set Type

  • Test/Production Indicator

    If any of the above 4 fields have different values across different inbound activities then, separate acknowledgement files will be generated.

    While processing EDI HIPAA files, ensure that you select value of EDI Standard Version field as 005010X231A1. In this case the Transaction Set Code field displays 999 as its value.
