AI Mapping
AI Mapping in Adeptia uses artificial intelligence to automatically suggest how fields in a source data layout correspond to fields in a target data layout, reducing the manual effort required to build data mappings.
What AI Mapping does
When you provide a source layout and a target layout, AI Mapping analyzes the fields in both and produces a set of suggested field-to-field correspondences.
The suggestions are generated by comparing fields across the source and target using several complementary techniques:
| Technique | How it helps |
|---|---|
| Word and phrase similarity | Matches fields whose names or descriptions share the same or closely related wording |
| Synonyms | Recognizes that two differently named fields may refer to the same concept |
| Abbreviations | Connects abbreviated field names to their full equivalents |
| Fuzzy matching | Catches near-matches where names differ slightly in spelling or formatting |
How field descriptions improve suggestions
When your layouts include descriptions alongside field paths, AI Mapping gives those descriptions priority when determining the best match. When no description is available, the field path itself is used to determine the best match.
Branch and leaf fields
AI Mapping handles both structural grouping fields (such as repeating groups or nested containers) and individual data fields within those groups.
Why AI Mapping is useful
Building a data mapping manually between two complex layouts can be time-consuming, especially when field names differ across systems or when layouts contain many fields. AI Mapping accelerates this process by presenting you with a set of suggestions so you can focus on refining rather than discovering matches from scratch.
